My SBG walk today

Decided to take another walk to SBG. Wanted to go take orchids at the Orchids Garden but reached there later than expected. Well, I still think this place is full of suprises. There's always something new for me to take each visit.

The first thing I came across is the tiny baby frog/toad. I thought it was a spider as it was hopping a the side along the wall next to the food court.

The best catch is the navy blue dragonfly, which I've never seen before. These insects are interesting and they will stay still for quite a while, giving me time to work on them.

Went to the Eco Garden today, but nothing of interest except for the swan which seems to give me the "do not disturb" look. By the time I got there, it was close to noon, so it was much too hot to carry on.

Hope to show more nice photos the next time, so till then....

My morning walk at SBG this morning 19 Apr 08

This is my first posting on my new blog. I hope to post nice pictures every week : )

To start off, here's my morning walk at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. It was an interesting walk. It started off with breakfast at the food court and while eating, spotted this little bird fluttering around. Never seen this bird before. Then, saw something trying to jump up the wall....oh my gosh, it was a frog! The gardener told me that it's edible : )

After that, tried to catch a shot of the flying swallow. Quite a difficult task as they are ever flying in circles. Going towards the symphony lake, spotted the sunbird which I've wanted to catch for a long long time....the scarlet one! Too bad it was too far away, so turned out small and not very clear. Hope to have better luck the next time. After that, only managed to catch sight of the common sunbirds.

While heading towards the pond....spotted a waterhen walking by, it was rather evasive. Next, the little heron flew by and was eyeing the waters for its prey. Interesting.

Was a fruitful day.
