NDP 2010

NDP is my favourite time of the year for taking fireworks. This year I had the chance to take one of the rehearsal from Swissotel Stamford during the CR2. It was indeed nice and from a different perspective. Would be nice to do it again next year!

The second shoot was during CR3 along Marina Boulevard. This is a side view of the fireworks, but it turned out fine too as I get to see and overall view of all the fireworks fired from various points.

the 3rd shoot, I was at the Pinnacle@Duxton in the early evening to shoot the fly over of the planes, choppers, and jets and then rushed over to Marina Boulevard for the rehearsal day. There were slightly more fireworks than the previous 2 weeks.

THE day came....and I had to injured my knee ligament : ( Was on MC for a week and fortunately was blessed with better movement by Sunday evening. Monday came and my friend offered to pick me for the show....as I wouldn't want to get out there on my hurt knee as the distance to walk is quite far plus lugging along my equipment.
The whole population seems to be segregated at the Marina Bay! Gosh! And it was so nice and not so crowded the last few weeks. I didn't even manage to get near the frontline! Anyway, had decided to try out the defocussing method which I learnt from one of Flickr members and wanted to try out many times...but always ending taking up the standard landscape shot. So this time armed with my 100mm macro, that forces me to take the closeups. But I also learnt another lesson, for such closeup shots, I need a really stable and good tripod to get the job done! hee hee....not my shaky FOC tripod! Ok ok.....must budget to get a tripod next time!
The effects turned out quite interesting despite the shake...ha ha ha...So hope you enjoy them too!
